In 1973, Juan Navarro Baldeweg made one of his most emblematic works, The Column and the Weight, a photograph taken in the lobby of the School of Architecture and Planning of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) during the period of time that he remained in the United States linked to the MIT Center for Advanced Visual Studies. With it, he began to work on the pieces of gravity and magnetism, in a constant and systematic work that has continued until today. A detailed study of these pieces and the references that motivated them can be of great interest to clarify part of the conceptual universe of the artist.
