For the fist year following, the death of Philip V, Elisabeth Farnesio, with her Family, lived in the seigniorial casas of the duke of Osuna and the prince Pio of Saboya, located in close proximity to the new Royal Palace. Her intention, in fact, was to acquire them as the permanent Madrid residence for herself and her single children. In 1746, the architect Virgilio Rabaglio drew up plans for both palaces and oversaw the renovation and embellishment of the combined properties. This article will present the recovered plans, and show they are linked to the architect who was the favorite of the widow queen, detailing as well the which transpired during the occupation of the sites, testifying to the passion for music of Osunas.
