La obra de Joan de Joanes en el Museo del Ermitage: una nueva atribución

En el Museo del Ermitage (St. Petersburgo) se conserva un cuadro Virgen con el Niño, los Santos Juanitos y ángel. Ingresó en el museo en 1922 de la ex colección de Osten-Saksen. En 1929 la tabla fue transmitida al fondo de las Antigüedades como una obra de la escuela italiana de los principios del siglo XVI. En 1933 regresó al Ermitage y fue incluida en el inventario del museo como un trabajo de pintor anónimo flamenco del siglo XVI. No fue publicada, ni reproducida. En el cuadro está representada la Virgen con el Niño Jesús sentado en sus rodillas. El niño estrecha en sus brazos la cruz sostenida por un ángel. San Juanito está apoyado sobre las rodillas de María también abrazando la cruz. Enfrente de él, sobre la balaustrada, está una filacteria con las palabras tradicionales: «ecce agnus dei»....
