Palace. Mendoza. Guadalajara. Codex Escurialensis. Sixteenth centuryAbstract
The Palace of Don Antonio de Mendoza in Guadalajara was constructed at the beginning of the sixteenth century. In spite of the absence of documentation, there are clear stylistic similarities between this palace and the Calahorra Palace (Granada) and the tomb of Cardinal Mendoza. The Codex Escurialensis was used for the decoration of the first floor column capitals as well as the façade decoration.
