Carlos V y el furor jamás perteneció a Manuel Godoy

Recientemente, se me ha señalado una sorprendente noticia: el famoso bronce de Leone y Pompeo Leoni, Carlos V y el Furor, procedente de las colecciones reales y en el Museo del Prado desde 1830 había formado parte de las colecciones artísticas de Manuel Godoy en el palacio madrileño de Buenavista (figs. 1 y 2). Dicha aserción apareció en dos catálogos publicados por el museo, uno correspondiente a la exposición monográfica dedicada a estos dos escultores del Renacimiento, y el otro el catálogo de la colección permanente de la escultura de época moderna…
