Dos réplicas inéditas del taller de Murillo en el palacio arzobispal de Toledo

Si la fama de Murillo contribuyó a hacer descubrir la maestría de la pintura española, favoreciendo la dispersión masiva de su obra fuera de España, al ser representada hoy día en museos del mundo entero, el palacio arzobispal de Toledo conserva sin embargo dos réplicas inéditas atribuidas a su taller: una Dolorosa y un Ecce Homo procedentes de la prestigiosa colección del Infante don Luis Antonio Jaime de Borbón y Farnesio (1727-1785). Nombrado arzobispo de Toledo y Sevilla con tan sólo ocho años (1738), el hijo menor de Felipe V e Isabel de Farnesio, el Infante don Luis pasó su juventud en los Reales Sitios rodeado de importantísimas colecciones. Al renunciar en 1754 a sus dignidades eclesiásticas, don Luis siguió el modelo monárquico reuniendo en sus palacios de Boadilla del Monte, Villaviciosa de Odón y Arenas de San Pedro, numerosas obras «muy apreciables»…
