Juan de Herrera’s participation in the project for the cloister of Cuenca Cathedral has long been known. The fundamental purpose of this article is to present a group of letters, apparently unpublished, which reveal interesting data concerning this intervention. They also emphasize the importance of Bishop Quiroga in relation to the project, as from the moment he arrived in Cuenca he demonstrated particular interest in the cloister and did not hesitate to request the collaboration of the royal architect.
